We need an intermediate level tester to assist with testing activities for various major and minor enhancements being developed on a suite of existing Java-based web applications. The applications are primarily custom built financial applications with complex business rules and calculations as well as interfaces to other collaborating systems. The role involves working in a two person team under the direction of a senior tester who is already familiar with the applications. Activities include:
•System Testing:
o Assist with test planning which may include assisting with the development of the Master Test Plan and System Test Plan deliverables;
o Learning the business rules of the applications in order to create test scenarios which test the requirements;
o Assist with the development of test case documents as per the Test Plan deliverable; the Test Case documents will be shared with the AAFC Business Team to assist with preparation for their UAT phase;
o Execute and maintain the Test Cases;
o Identify and report variances and assist the developers in problem determination as appropriate;
o Document the variances and their resolution in the variance tracking tool (JIRA);
o Assist the development team in problem determination or report the problem to the customer for resolution by another team as appropriate;
o Resolve variances in the application if required; and
• Provide support for AAFC’s User Acceptance Testing (UAT):
o Developers and System Test team will support user acceptance testers in their testing effort; and
o Reproduce the variances prior to sending to the development team for correction.
