Position Details Due to strong growth within the CCOP line of business JDSU is seeking to hire a Senior Embedded SW Designer for our Ottawa based team.

What will you do in this role?
You will contribute to our success by:
• Designing, implementing and supporting features in C/C++ on embedded platforms for high performance optical modules.
• Applying best practices from design through testing.
• Solving complex problems.
• Analyzing and characterizing software failures.
• Sharing your knowledge in the following technology areas: code reuse, designing for test and support, distributed and multi-threaded system design, etc.
Required Qualifications What experience will allow you the greatest success in this role?
• At least 3+ years developing embedded software in C/C++.
• Good understanding of HW (Machine State and Device Driver).
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• The ideal candidate would also have an understanding of optical communications systems, control theory, experience in object-oriented design and in C/C++
