except he is real - there is no set-up of any kind

There are setups everywhere. Look at the public, so lame actors. An "unexpected kayak" is trying to prove there is nothing under the water, proves nothing it can easily pass over a slightly submerged object. A coin in a bottle trick with a Misfits actor is so lame I could do it. Overall it looks like a comedy or satire on this type of shows.

it may looks lame because there is no actors and guy is actually a very good and creative magician. He also messes with the people's minds and doing a great job and what's good - there is no theatre stage, it's all in movement.
Kayak didn't matter - the police came in a heavy boat and picked him up.
It's not boring.
Set up or not - explain at least some of his tricks.
Ok smarty pans, how did he went through the middle of the glass wall, melt the glass in someone else's store or bend wine glass without touching it.
If it's all set-us, he'll need enourmous amount of money, and it doesn't looks like it's the case.

Watch an opposite hand of the magician, the one that does not detract attention, he can't hide he holds something. His skills are not developed yet.
The police boat either real or not, but the policeman removes the guy from whatever he stands on very accurately from aside. After this obviously the construction he walks on goes down and the boat can float over. The guy has sponsors for sure, because young British actors are in this show not from pure love. The guy is not a real "magician" yet, just learning. he needs more money to get a better crew.
